General Information

The Department of Geography and Geopolitics of the Middle East is an interdisciplinary department providing master and doctoral programs which focus on the physical, human and economic geography of the Middle East. It enables detailed studies and research on the human geography of the Middle East with geopolitical approaches.  In line with these opportunities, it aims to train specialized researchers at national and international levels. These programs, with elective and compulsory courses, have a teaching plan to be preferred according to the field of specialization. The master is a two-year program in which is one year of courses and a second year of the thesis phase (1-year additional time can be taken), and the doctoral program is a four-year program in which is one year of courses and three years of thesis phase (2 years additional time can be taken). Students who successfully complete the program and graduate can pursue an academic career and positions in research institutions, public or private sectors.
